Performance derived from water chestnuts? Advansa makes it happen | Home Textiles Today

New York – Advansa’s newest performance technology offers what it calls “purifying comfort.”

The new Suprelle Carbon Active is the first filling fiber made with activated chrcaol obtained by the carbonation of a plant, in this case, the water chestnut. The technology delivers anti-odor and anti-static properties along with moisture management.

Activated charcoal is commonly used to produced air-purifying masks and military clothing.

Suprelle Carbon Active is a recycled hydrophilic hollow fiber mixed with the activated charcoal at the polymer stage. Compared to standard poly fiber tests show the Advansa fill absorbs moisture and pulls it away from the sleeper much more rapidly.

The fill is also Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and GRS certified.

The new development is part of the company’s Eco Origin portfolio of premium fibers.
